Saudi visa photo: size and requirements for the eVisa, checked in your browser

A Saudi visa photo for the online eVisa is a digital file of exactly 200 × 200 pixels and 5 to 100 KB, with the face filling 70–80% of the photo on a white background with no pattern and no shadows. Those are the rules on the photo specifications page of the official eVisa portal, visa.visitsaudi.com. OpenPhotoId is a free passport photo maker that makes the Saudi visa photo on your own device, at that size and inside that file-size window, and checks it before you upload it. No sign-up, no watermark, and nothing is uploaded.

Which Saudi visa this photo is for

The rules above are the eVisa portal's, visa.visitsaudi.com, the official site for the Saudi tourist visa. That is the Saudi visa photo the app makes. Other Saudi visas are applied for in other ways, and their photo rules can differ; OpenPhotoId has not checked them. If you are not applying on visa.visitsaudi.com, read the photo rules of the portal or office you apply through before you use this file.

Questions

What size is a Saudi visa photo?

For the online eVisa, exactly 200 × 200 pixels, with a file size of 5 to 100 KB. The face takes up 70–80% of the photo, from the chin to the crown of the head.

What background does a Saudi visa photo need?

White, with no pattern and no shadows, and nobody and nothing else in the photo. OpenPhotoId sets a white background for this document.

Can I wear a head covering in a Saudi visa photo?

The eVisa page says head wear is generally not permitted, with exceptions, especially for religious reasons. In that case the face must be visible from the tip of the chin to the forehead, with no shadows on it.

Does OpenPhotoId upload my photo?

No. The face detector and the matting model run in your browser, so the photo never leaves your device until you upload it to the visa portal yourself, and after the first visit the app works offline.
